Any advice anyone can give me for a second Zoom interview? The first interview was this past Monday with the companies recruiter on the phone for about 25mins was scheduled for 20 mins, discussing my experience, about what I know about the job and the company, a time that I was faced with a challenge, how my skills translated to the position I’m going after.
Thought I did ok, but I guess she really liked me. Moved me onto take an assessment test. Was really confident in the test because I nailed all the questions and spent many hours completing them. Completed that test on Tuesday.
Today they reached out to schedule a zoom interview with a team manager, which I scheduled this Friday.
Any advice and what should I expect?

I have a question for those who finished the game (No spoilers please).
The sections where you play as "the prisoner" have chests and other stuff. Should I gather this stuff with him? Because... it seems he's not using anything... and he never will (whoever the hell he is).
YS VIII lets you keep the items from the sections where you play as Dana, but in this case... the prisoner is keeping the loot.
I noticed that you can revisit some parts of the map with the main party, but not 100%. So... I'm not sure what to do.

2021.12.01 19:08 sybilmyriad I don't understand PoE's balancing.

Sorry, I'm going to rant.
I'm a new player (started really playing in Expedition league), but I think I've managed to make it pretty far into the game; the only content I can't manage is the "uber" end-game stuff. I want to preface this by saying that I do actually enjoy the game, I think it's fun to a point. The point for me was the end-game, which I thought was going to be the most enjoyable part for me because grinding through the storyline is kind of a drag. Mapping started off relatively alright and like I said I managed to make it pretty far, to the point that I could melt through T16 maps and fight the Maven's bosses. And I can say without a doubt that I've never played a game so poorly balanced in just about every single way.
Defensives feel like a scam in PoE. Getting one-shot by everything doesn't feel good. Early on I kept getting melted and I'd always wonder, without any kind of post-death recap, what could've possibly killed me. I've got 70-80% physical damage reduction, soft-capped elemental and chaos resists, 30%-40% block, what I thought was a decent amount of HP (3.5k-4k), some evasion and spell suppression but not a lot -- but I didn't think I needed everything. I was wrong. In PoE it feels like you need to build practically every single form of damage mitigation in the game or else something is going to one tap you out of nowhere. I mean, short of just getting super lucky with high-rolling on gear or getting something like Mageblood I don't understand how I'm supposed to manage that. And the worst part is that none of the deaths feel fair to begin with. 90% of the game is my whole screen covered in enemies and ability effects, explosions and projectiles everywhere, but I have to somehow account for all of them. It's hardly obvious what's going to chunk me or one shot me, most of the time it just feels completely random. A lot of times I'll just get melted by regular ass enemies, which are some of the most frustrating deaths, and I'm just left sitting there wondering.. what are these damage numbers? Do my numbers mean anything? Are all of these high percentage resists just an illusion? Do they actually do anything? Did the devs forget to actually code resists into the game? Is it a bug?
In any other game if I have 80% physical damage reduction, I don't have to worry about physical damage completely destroying me. In PoE it feels like no matter how high I get my defenses up I have to constantly play scared, knowing that there's going to be some frustrating mechanic that randomly decides to nuke me. I regularly honestly wonder why I'm building resists at all if I'm just going to be instantly killed anyway. I should just focus on pure damage and try to kill everything before it can kill me, which I've seen players unironically suggesting and now I see why.
Every time I die to something stupid I have to open up my character screen and make sure my resists are soft capped or if something went wrong.
And this is all after defensives were apparently buffed, but why? Why are the devs buffing defensives? Why are they 'trying to slow the game down' while also building a meta that requires you to play fast? Why aren't they just nerfing enemy damage numbers? And I know they do sometimes nerf enemies, like earlier on in this league. But it's so odd to me that they seem to rely on players beta testing things for them. Why did scourge enemies nuke so hard to begin with? Who was sitting there like, yeah, in this league mechanic that spawns you in surrounded by a screen full of enemies we really ought to give half of those enemies giant energy blast nukes? Then it took players getting nuked for them to realize, oh wait maybe that wasn't such a good idea, lets dial that back a bit -- but those nerfs hardly help in the late game, when everything just does so much damage.
I'm not the smartest person and definitely not a game developer, but if I saw that people were complaining about dying too quickly while they're sitting at capped out resists I wouldn't be like "well, looks like defenses need to be buffed" -- I'd look at why enemies are dealing so much damage that resists feel like they mean nothing. And that's just base damage, not counting map modifiers or aura-stacking rares on top of whatever other league mechanic there is happening at the same time. God forbid in the mass of enemies I'm firing into there's something with corrupted blood and suddenly I'm dead because I didn't specifically build for that. It feels like I have to cover every possible weakness in the whole game, every single damage mitigation mechanic. I have to have so much armor and evasion and block and spell suppression and resists and immunities and health and/or energy shield while trying to balance out all of the auras I need and the reservation amount they require and then I also need to make sure I have high movement speed and guard skills and this and that and every other thing. And then I still get melted. Too often I find myself struggling with what to build, what skills to get or gear to swap out to make up for how much damage I'm taking and then end up nerfing the amount of damage I'm dealing.. just so that I can die a little bit slower. And I feel like this isn't even a me problem. I've seen a lot of videos of pro players getting randomly one shot, but.. they mostly seem to just accept it? I guess they've been playing so long they're used to it by now. I couldn't imagine playing this game on HC and losing everything to getting one tapped by something stupid, then continue playing. I guess it's their job, but I definitely would have rage quit.
Then I have issues with clear because I'm trying to juggle so much just to try and survive, which in the end means nothing against a lot of the game's bosses that deal so much damage in the late game that all of their attacks are basically one shot kill mechanics. I guess I'm too used to playing MMOs where bosses are properly balanced and their attacks are decently pronounced so that I know "oh, I have to dodge this way so that I don't get one-tapped". It's engaging and fun, and doesn't feel like shit when you die. In PoE I can hardly see what the bosses are doing in the midst of all the chaos, especially with things like Maven's invitations or just bosses that spew out a bunch of obnoxious effects and enemy spam all over my screen. It feels like there isn't just one or two mechanics that I have to dodge, I have to dodge every single thing and all of that isn't counting everything else that can go on at the same time in this game. Getting slowed by Maven just as a boss is going to nuke me is definitely annoying, or trying to survive a Ritual that has me stuck in a tiny space running away from rotating ice beams while simultaneously fighting off a hoard of enemies that are getting buffed by aura stacking rares. Or the one time when I was trying to do a blight while I had a chance to summon enemies from beyond modifier on the map and ended up spawning the "end of all things" boss or whatever he's called who decided he can spawn giant AoE nukes on top of me from three screens away through walls while he's also shooting off lightning bolts and ice spikes and whatever the hell else he does so that I can't get close. It's like the devs sit there thinking "how can we be as obnoxious as possible?" as they add in all of these mechanics while not actually putting in the time or effort to account for how annoying they make the game. I feel like they're constantly adding in new ways to make enemies more powerful and frustrating while nerfing players for being 'too strong'. I have so many questions. Who the heck is the main character here, guys? Is this game about the enemies and not the players? Am I not allowed to feel powerful? Would it hurt the NPCs' feelings? How come my towers in the game's tower defense mode get deactivated if I walk two feet away from them but enemies can attack me from screens way? Have the devs ever played a tower defense game before? Sorry, that's a whole other rant.
And then I hit the second wall, the most unenjoyable thing of all about this game in my opinion; the obscene amount of RNG that would make a Korean MMO blush. I've played BDO for years, that game had some bullshit RNG. But PoE? Good god. I play SSF, so I can't pay for other people's luck. I just have to rely on my own, which apparently sucks. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some RNG as much as the next person. Grinding for a good piece of gear and finally getting it feels great. The issue is that the grind is everything and endless in this game. Getting little incremental upgrades feels terrible, and while occasionally there are those huge drops that are exciting, it's nothing game changing for me like Mageblood (I really need Mageblood). And what makes it worse is that they end up doing a league like this one, Scourge. I have a bad enough time with gear, you're really want me to nuke it? You want me to nuke this piece of gear I finally got for a chance at a decent modifier or more than likely a really bad one? Does anybody actually, unironically - all memes aside - enjoy nuking their gear? Stylistically Scourge is awesome, the design choice and lore of leagues seems - generally - pretty spot on. But the mechanics and balancing? Not nearly as great.
Once I feel like I've hit my peak, I realize that I'm not even close to scaling the mountain that is end-game because I'm just not lucky enough.
When I hit a couple hundred thousand DPS I was so excited. I was beating up maps and the Maven's bosses (for the most part), so when I got an invitation to fight the Maven herself I was like "yeah, I can do this! I've made it to the end-game!". Then I get in and can barely tickle her, so I look up videos on how to beat her and it's just people with ultra high roll gear doing tens of millions of DPS while facetanking everything with their Mageblood (I really need Mageblood). I don't know how I'm supposed to even get that much damage in SSF, to the point where I've been tempted to play public so I can just buy good gear. I don't want to stoop that low, but I feel like the devs just don't know SSF exists or how to even begin balancing/rebalancing their game around a singleplayer experience. At times I wonder if they even care, or if at this point they're just focused on making their sequel "Path of Oneshots 2".
In the end, it's super disheartening looking up builds and videos on the game just to see that they require gear that I'm realistically never going to be able to get my hands on without spending hundreds of hours grinding, getting super lucky, or trading. I was grinding for a Mageblood for a while until I saw how low the odds were and how much content the RNG is gatekeeping. Then I just got slightly depressed because I really wanted to be like all of the cool kids and melt through endgame content. Honestly, this game often feels too draining to actually be fun which is why I question if I'll even play again next league for very long.

So this might sound a little “whiny”, but it’s something that frustrates me.
I was hired as an AE before the current VP of Sales started. I was apprehensive at first, but thought he was a pretty cool dude overall.
Couple months in, he hires some Sr. AE’s and I’m training them in.
I get the impression now that he’s favoring the guys he hired over me, even though I’m selling more as of right now. It comes down to how much he hyped the other guys and quickly moves to help them and he generally is just nicer to them.
It’s really not a big deal, it’s probably mostly my ego that’s butt hurt. But I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and overcome it?
Or if I’m just being a whiny little bee-otch that needs the spotlight.

Hello again Aquariums! , I previously posted here and got some great advice planning my first tank but was unexpectedly made homeless for a short while , since then I’ve decided I want to try for a more South American River theme tank. I have been eyeing up a 15 x 15x 36 inch tank , Fluval U3 and a heater + light ,
Based in the UK so availability is being considered , I have found out about Apistogramma and would love to have a male and female pair , along with some tetras , corys and a bristlenose.
Would love some suggestions on what tetras would be good with which apisto’s , I think skirted tetras would be a good size tank mate but my workplace label them as “fin nippers “ which makes me skeptical about them getting along with a pair of Apisto’s , I have decided Panda corys are a safe bet and also adorable but am open to suggestions , The bristlenose I was thinking maybe the acinstrus Sp. Rio Paraguay but again this is based purely on aesthetics so am open to suggestions on this too .
Plant wise I was thinking of : well I’m not sure yet and you probably don’t care that much .
Substrate and hard scape was going to use just the following :
grey rounded river stones
Scottish river stones
river sand
river wood
And a layer of Tropica aqua soil /nutrient tabs for planting towards the back
